had a nice quiet day...today we had to go to the bank to move an ira that was maturing...and the banker was clueless...so we had to go to another branch!

so another hour later...we decided to stop for lunch went to a nice breakfast/lunch place and had wonderful whole grain pancakes YUM!

today pasta with some leftover turkey...LOVE turkey!!

Sorry for my impromptu absensce there... Came down with a nasty flu Wednesday night... Been off my computer for the past 2 days trying to recover. Feeling a lot better now but still no energy. Need to start eating stuff. >.>

yeah you need to get some good food in you, hope you are at your parents for the week (always nice to have a mom take care of you for a few days, even when you are 'too old' to need your mom

Actually I was at my parents, then I came down with it after I left. So I had already returned to my apartment when I got sick. Luckily my parents don't live to far away (35-40 mins), so my dad was able to bring me some 7up and saltines to help with it. And my mom also came down with it, so I know who I got it from. And timing isn't great. I was supposed to head up to my fiancees parents this weekend for the New Years. That has been put on hold until either tomorrow or Monday now. >.>

hm, you and your mom had it at the same time=not getting it from your mom. (though you probably BOTH got it from the same person).
at least your future in-laws will understand...school may not so much.

ah the 7up and saltine diet, then you get the weak tea and toast or rice crispies...done that too many times to forget it.

doing the massive end of year clearance here (not a sale, but cleaning--time to toss out stuff from 2002 and give my paper shreader some 'our' time

)

Ya that is what we are figuring. My sisters family had it and then got better and we saw them on Christmas. So ya, probably got it from one of them.

I was hoping to be on to better foods by now but ya, it appears I am still stuck with saltines, 7up, toast, and maybe rice. Sigh...

I do my massive cleaning during the summer. Have more time then.

was funny...was watching tv before midnight and they were asking what things you were hoping to do in the new year ....my first thought was I needed to use the wc

but was watching the count down and didnt want to miss it because I was taking a much needed break!

going to be a lot of changes in this new year....hopefully most for the better...like pwnd getting married!

Yup, all better. Didn't have any time to get on as of late. Been super busy with my fiancee since we were at her parents house. Constantly getting errands run or wedding plans set. Lots of fun. And yes, happy New Years to you too cosy, a little bit late.

We didn't even watch the ball drop this year. We were watching The Amazing Spiderman instead. It really isn't that big of a deal I guess. I didn't miss it.

I didnt watch the ball drop was watching a different channel

got a massive amount of cleaning done--a friend with a big paper shredder came over and we shredded lots of old bills, bank statements, receipts, etc...took hours (it kept over heating!), but now I have more space for ....

new bills, bank statements, receipts....

its just and endless cycle!!

ah wedding planning...dont think its something I wish to do again.

School starts back up tomorrow... Have a good old teacher inservice day. Super excited. Seriously...

I will definitely be glad once the wedding is over. Lots to plan and it definitely can be stressful (more so for her than me usually).

lol pwnd...some would say you are truly strange for liking school--but seeing as you went in to teaching.........

and yeah, the bride certainly has more stress than the groom as they usually do the majority of the planning (they have their 'ideal' wedding to make), but its stressful on both especially if you are very close (my hubby gets sick when I do, even when we were thousands of miles apart--he would call me and ask if I was feeling poorly because he was and couldnt figure out why).

too much cleaning--I'm bushed

I hate teacher in-service days... Here, sit in meetings all day and listen to all the hoops you have to jump through to do your job! Like we have to make these curriculum maps and have them submitted for board approval by the end of the semester. Well the curriculum's really haven't changed in the past 3 years, the last time they did these. >.> Oh well...

You can come clean my apartment cosy! I was going to and then I got sick...

yeah right, I got a small tiny corner under a table cleaned!! I spent the next two days sneezing so much I had to leave my condo! My hubby says its a good start

ah, inservice days...kinda like the days I had in japan when they did exams...I had to go to school, yet wasnt allowed to leave the teachers room...and then they got upset with me when I did cross stitching. (I really had NOTHING to do since I wasnt teaching, wasnt allowed to make lesson plans, etc...so exactly what did they think I was going to do for 8 hours????)...yep, gotta love those days.

well I still have lots more to clean, and with my sneezing I am not looking forward to it in the slightest

wtb someone to come in and clean for me!

I just cleaned my bathroom for the most part. About time too. It was getting a bit dirty. Especially more so after i had the flu...

Ya it was another pointless day... They wanted us to align our lessons to the new common core standards. All nice and stuff except the standards aren't finalized for my subject area... Spent the whole day spinning my wheels. At least it is Friday...

cant believe the weekend is gone already.
going to take down my decorations this week (always wait until after the 6th)...and then its just the cold depressing winter left

at least I got some nice calendars to look at this year! (got a cool sushi calendar and some anime ones my hubby likes, and pandas and japanese castles and a stuffed toy bear calendar!...and I need more walls now, but I wasnt able to find a croissant calendar for fiep)

Ya, it is very sad... Back to work this week. Finals today so it gives me time to plan for the rest of the week. Was going to do that on Friday but instead we got to do a bunch of stupid busy work that we will just have to redo later...

No decorations to take down here. Makes life easy that way.

still have my tree to take off the wall...and the wreath on the door (its real--gotta find out what to do with it), its supposed to get warmer this week so I am waiting to take my lights on my balcony down (unplugged them)...and all the snow is gone.

hubby is getting a cold, I really dont want to get it, but his snoring is loud enough to hear OVER the tv

(and it sounds like the noise that you get when you go over those bumps before a toll or drive on the shoulder---those are MEANT to wake you up, his snoring does the same), so I will probably get it too since I am not getting enough (much) sleep

Supposed to be mid-40's today. Supposed to be in the 50's on Saturday. Then 29 on Sunday. Quite a drop.

Colds are annoying. Especially if they come with a sore throat... Hate that. >.>

he had a sore throat most of the week, we were thinking strep but then the sneezing and fever....so a full blown cold (better than having to go to the doctor for meds but still not a happy camper)...so I am not getting a good night sleep now either
